A member of the alien race known as the “Zabrak”, Darth Maul’s appearance and colouring due to his alien origins made him visibly reminiscent of the devil himself.Nevertheless, he was a devoted Sith apprentice to his Master, Darth Sidious (aka Palpatine) and skilled with the fearsome Sith double-bladed lightsaber. He was, in Sidious’ view, the perfect emissary to show the Jedi that the Sith had returned from the mists of legend.Maul was able to dispose of the practiced Jedi Master, Qui Gon Jinn; unfortunately, Jinn’s apprentice, Obi Wan Kenobi, managed to defeat Maul with a surprise move.
